Cobra Kai Season Four Review

S. Samek

No secret that one of my favorite Netflix shows is Cobra Kai. It’s probably one of the best overall shows on the platform. Each of the prior three seasons have been great. Well season four is no exception. The show is still funny, dramatic and action packed. it moves by at a fast pace, which is easy to binge watch in one go. I still highly recommend this show.

Parks and Recreation Show Review

S. Samek

Well, I may be a few years too late on this, but I finally watched the show Parks and Recreation. It was awesome. It was really funny. The cast was great, and the celebrity cameos were fun to watch also. It was a very easy show to just binge watch and enjoy. It ended at a good point too with a solid final episode as well. I highly recommend this show.

Cobra Kai Season 3 Review

S. Samek

Cobra Kai has to be one of the best shows on Netflix. The highly anticipated third season was released in January and I finally got around to finishing it.

Well I wasn’t disappointed and I’m so ready for season four. I feel like this seasons mostly the build up for season four, but theres nothing wrong with that. It was still a good season. It had action, humor and pretty much everything you would expect from the shows prior two seasons. It’s also 10 episodes with the same length so nothing changed there. It’s still as binge watchable as ever.

You do need watch the first two seasons, before watching this one, which you should do anyway. I would say season three was worth the hype and at least on par with the first two seasons. It’s a well-done show and theres nothing to complane about. Highly recomend this season and series.

DSA Tangled Tower Review

S. Samek

DSA got a new event a couple weekends ago along with a few new characters. Tangled has finally come to the game. Rapunzel, Flynn, Maximus and Mother Gothel are all new characters added to the game. Though Gothel isn’t quite avalible yet.

With these new characters comes a new event the Tangled tower. Which is pretty much the standard run of the mill tower event, much like Stitch and King Triton. Though this one requires wilds characters which is weird as none of the Tangled characters are wild. Though the best thing about this tower is the visuals. It’s Rapunzel’s tower from the movie with her long hair flowing down and it looks great.

I’m also glad we have a third tower event to rotate as honestly the every week Stich ,or King Triton tower is getting stale. Adding new characters are usually the best thing to keep interest in the game with a new event and it succeeded on that account. It’s just nothing new on the game play front, though that is more limited as to what they can do. So overall if you like Tangled and new characters you’ll like the event. If not just wait til the next one.

Best Leftovers Ever Review

S.Samek

If your looking for something to watch on Netflix I have an answer. The show is called Best Leftovers Ever and it’s a cooking show dedicated to using leftover ingredients. Three chefs each make a dish for the judges to critique in the first round and receive a couple of tips to improve for the second. During the second round each chef is given a random set of leftovers, usually from a type of food you would take out and is tasked in making a dinner using that dish. The Chef that does the best from both rounds combined wins the $10,000 Prize.

Theres one season eight episodes long with each episode being a half hour or so long making It easy to binge. The show hosts are also a good balance of funny, serious and educational. They give tips during the show as well as have them at the bottom of the screen. With most competition based shows they don’t take the time to share tips so I appeciate it.

I also like how theres no elimination. A lot of the time on shows that have eliminations you often wonder how they would have done in future challenges, if maybe they only had a bad day that resulted in their elimination. It gives each player a chance to rebound if they have a weak first round, or the ability for the leader to be cought up too. Which makes it anybody’s game which is good.

It’s a light hearted and fun show to watch. I think Netflix continues to do cooking shows well. I highly recomended this one.

Pop Blitz Review

S. Samek

It’s been a while sense we talked Funko Pops, so let’s change that. However this time were going to talk about Funko Pop Blitz an app/game.

Funko Pop Blitz is a match three puzzle game that incorporates the collecting of Funko Pops. Each pop can be used as a character and has a different power up to help the player. The Pops can also be upgraded to be more powerful so you can score even more.

It’ a pretty standard match three game. Though your playing for the highest score instead of an objective like say in Candy Crush. This is fine, except it seems like your just playing the same level over and over which gets repetitive. With a more defined objective system, or level progress it’s easy to measure the progress you’re making. Though each level only takes maybe a minute so its fast paced.

The game is free to download, but has microtransactions. You can buy coins to get more POPs, or extra hearts to keep playing. Honestly I don’t recomend buying anything in this game as theres no real point, as it just getting a higher score instead of like a better rank or cosmetic. I mean you could get the additional coins for more pop characters, but they are a mystery box so you don’t know what your going to get.

Though the one think I think the game did really well was the amount of IP’s they have in the game. You can play as characters from Trolls, The Office, Jurassic Park. They are always adding more as well to keep the game fresh.

Overall I think It’s a B- rating from me. It’s a fun time waster, with cool Pop visuals, but it’s nothing special as far as game play. I would recomend it mostly if you’re a fan of Pops to give it a try, or if your looking for a very casual game to play.

Dash and Lilly Review

S. Samek

My next Netflix show review is for Dash and Lilly. This is a part holiday story, part romance series. It has eight episodes and most are under 30 minutes with most being 25 minutes. This makes it really easy to binge in one sitting.

And belive me when I say easy to watch in one setting, I turned on episode one and turned around maybe two hours later and I was on episode six. Like it just flew by.

Though aside from it being short, it was still alot of fun. It wasn’t an over the top cheesy holiday romance like you see in a lot of stories. It was almost like a game as Dash and Lilly follow a set of clues and dares before finally meeting in person. It was easy to watch and fun to watch and I really enjoyed it.

Honestly I highly recomended this series as its a solid offering to add to your list nd put you n the holiday spirit.

Cobra Kai Season 1 Review

S.Samek

So one of the shows I started to watch on Netflix is Cobra Kai. This is a spin-off of the movie The Karate Kid.

Honestly I thing it’s really good an worth the watch. It’s pretty easy to understand even if you haven’t seen the movie. It’s also not just an entire rehash of the movie in case you were wondering about that. Though their are enough references to the movie that fans can pick up on and enjoy.

Most episodes are about a half an hour and this season has ten episodes. So it’s pretty easy to finish in an afternoon if you want to binge watch it.

It’s got comedy and action and if your a fan of either of those you should be able to enjoy it. Same thing if your fan of the movie. Though as I said before you don’t have to have seen the movie to enjoy the series. I would recomend checking this one out if you also like sports movies,or shows espcially about marital arts.

There is also a season two avalible. So be sure to check out both seasons.

Teamfight Tactics Review

S. Samek

Well its officially out. Team fight tactics, Riots version of Dota auto-chess has reached the liver servers.

Its so far been a day and its looking like a popular game. They had to make an hour and twenty minute que delay. Like people are really excited to play the game.

I tried it and I got in about six games. The longest wait I had was 37 minutes and waited 20 at the least. I’m sure this will come down in time, but I think was worth it.

The basic thing of the game is to collect champion figures in different classes and power them up with items and defeat your challengers team of champions. Its an eight  person game and battles take place one on one during the game.

The game ends when you lose all of an Hp style of bar. You lose Hp when losing the one on one battles,or failing to clear minion levels in-between the sets of one on one. Though mostly you will lose from head to head match ups.

Its a fun game though. It does have a bit of luck to it, with drawing champions and items, as well as  making decisions  with unit positions and selections. games were fairly close for the most part, except when your first learning and some players already know how to play.  Yet with some time you can get the hang of it. Comebacks are possible to thanks to things in the game that help with it.

A ranked ladder is coming soon too which is exciting. I might even try that as I play the game some more to figure out whats good and what isn’t.

I highly recomend giving it a try. It’s fun and at least for now seems lower stress than a round on the rift.

Rocketman Movie Review

S. Samek

So the latest musical biopic to hit theaters is Rocketman. This tells the story of Elton John and his rise to fame in the music industry.

The story is told by mixing the songs in to key points of the story, in more of a musical style against having them just in the back ground or more of a historical this is what happened straight to the point story. Which was one of the fun things about this film. It made for some memorable scenes.

The story is fine. Like its what happened in John’s life. However I feel its really secondary to the music. If you like John’s music you see this movie. If you like musicals you see this movie.  Theres a good mix of songs too, theres upbeat and love songs and sad and lonely songs. They all seem to fit where there placed too. I escpially found it funny as a young Reggie sang the bitch is back, in the opening scene. Just great song placement.

I did really like this move. It didn’t drag on at any point. It was just a fun sit back and enjoy the music kind of film.

Now it is rated r so it maybe not be suitable for younger audiences. Though if your able to watch r rated movies go ahead.

Now the question is where does it rate against Bohemian Rhapsody. While I enjoyed Bohemian Rhapsody, I think Rocketman was better.

While both of them had great music, Bohemian Rhapsody felt like it was dragging on for far too long. It felt like it was more story driven, while Rocketman was more music driven. My preference is for the music driven Rocketman.

I would recomend both movies though, especially if you like the music of either of those bands.
