Our first announcement for this two week period is Conan. You can get a couple new pops or t-shirts to add to your collection. They look good, but I’ll pass.

Can’t get enough Funko? How about eating some Funko’s for breakfast. This is silly, but hey why not. Each box has a theme and goes with a pocket pop. With six kinds to choose there’s something for every taste.

Insert wave of unprofessional expletive language here. Yet I just feel that’s my only way to describe how passionately I hate both Star Wars and the Vynl line.

The next pop announcement made me laugh. It’s Twinkie the Kid.

Blink -182 becomes the next band with a pop. Pretty cool addition.

Then there’s another Dragon Ball z pop.

 

Then we have a Tom and Jerry pop wave. Pretty cool, but why not make this wave sooner.

Go Power Rangers. This is a big new wave with lots of cool pops. I really like the new 10’ dino ultrazord that’s a Target exclusive.

Next up are more Winnie the Pooh offerings. They are cute, but seem like they don’t add anything new to be any different from the other Winnie the Pooh pops.

The Jollibee mascot is getting a pop. Cute, but I don’t know how well it will sell. I doubt most people have heard of Jollibee.

The next wave of Disney pops has me excited. It’s from the show Talespin. These look so awesome. I just wish there was an Ace London to go with the set.

The show Friends gets another large wave of pops.

Then for another SDCC exclusive you can get a Dr. Who, pop or rock candy of the 13th doctor.

Pikachu is ready to be caught. Just head to target to snag this cute little exclusive.

New specialty series mystery minis are coming out. This is a first for Funko. These adorable Sailor Moon Mystery minis are worth picking up.

Quality set of announcements. Plenty of things I like and plenty of things I dislike.

 

 

Funko News 4/20/18

It never stops. More, yes more Star Wars pops are coming.

 

Next up is Baby Driver pops from the hit movie.

 

Then Batman and Wonder Woman become a two pack of Vynl.

 

If you’re looking for anything from the Incredibles two, Funko has you covered. There’s pops, keychains, pens and more. Worth checking out if you’re getting excited for the movie.

 

Speaking of superheroes, how about some new Marvel additions? Black Panther is getting a second wave, thanks to it’s great success at the box office.

Then there’s a new Riverdale rock candy. It looks really well done and super cute.

 

If your looking for more dinosaurs, there’s a second wave of Jurassic World wave coming. Which is super awesome.
Deadpool has a new wave of exclusives coming. These are hilarious, especially the mermaid and panda.

 
Digital Quake has pops available now. I don’t even know what that is.
Dumbo Hikiari’s are on the way as well and continue to look cute.

 
Last up for the week is a new wave of Ant-Man products.

 
Very full couple of weeks of announcements. Most of which. look very good. I should have a bigger collection coming from all of these.

 

 

 

 

 

Funko News 3/23/18

First announcement of the Funko week is new pops from the show Glow. It’s a Netflix show about female wrestling.

 

I haven’t seen the show so I don’t know much about the characters being made into pops. Yet these do look on par with the other WWE offerings from Funko.

 

If you love plush cats you’ll love this next item. Kleptocats plushies have stickers you can get for Imessage conversations. These are very cute and worth grabbing.

 

Hope you can’t get enough of your favorite web-slinging superhero. Spider-Man has a new exclusive available at game stop. The pose looks pretty cool, but it feels like this one has been done already.

 

Yep, not a week goes by with out a Star Wars pop being announced.

 

It just seems like business as usual for Funko this week. Nothing spectacular from the announcements this week.

 

 

 

Funko News 3/2/18

After a big week of toy fair exclusives, what does Funko have planned next? Check it out in this post.

 
Starting out the week is a set of Cuphead t-shirts. These look really good. They aren’t go bright, but work well with the more black and white old school tone of the game. Very sharp addition to the wardrobe if you’re a fan of the game.

 

Next up is a set of Disney Cartoon plush toys. These look adorable especially Chip and Dale. So worth picking up.

 

Target gets another 10-inch pop in the form of a porg. Why this is needed is beyond me.

 

WWE fans have a new two-pack available at Walgreens.

 

Marvel fans might want to hide your wallet. Infinity wars is coming with a full lineup of everything Funko offers. Heck the pop side of the lineup is 19 deep. They do look cool but how many different variants do you really need for each avenger.

 

No week of announcements would be complete with out Star Wars.

 

Nice to see a light week of new announcements after toy fair. These may all may look pretty good,but I think they mostly fall under getting carried away because of a successful movie.

 

 

 

 

Funko News 2/23/18

Funko fans this is your new Christmas. The New York toy fair is going on. This results in a major uptick in the number of new products coming soon. Here we are going to break them down and see what’s good and what isn’t.

 

Leading off this substantial list is a Disney wave. The wave includes Monsters Inc, Moana, Nightmare Before Christmas and Aladdin. Each of these look really good.
Nice to see Monsters get an upgrade from a previous wave. The Aladdin is a movie moment, the first non-Star Wars and looks super.

 

Stick with Disney there’s Winnie the Pooh dorbz. Very cute, but nothing to special.

 

Disney Hercules is getting a new set of pops too. Really excited for the pop ride edition and the fiery -red Hades chase from this set.

 

The next wave is technically Disney, but also falls under Nickelodeon. Either way its from the show Doug. Quail man and Quail dog being the best from this set, but they all look super.

 

A Winkle in Time is getting a pop movie set.

 

Bob Ross paints his way into your home in cuddly plush form. Also joining him are Lord of the Rings and Small foot plushies.

 

Three more Overwatch pops are coming that look pretty lit.

 

Marvel adds a couple sweet looking futuristic pops based on their mobile game.

 

Tomb Raider fans have a new Lara Croft offering.

 

Recent trend Bendy and the Ink Machine adds more pops to their line.

 

Recent announcement Jurassic World is getting some new additions. Can’t go wrong with more dinosaurs.

 

Movie fans can collect Atomic Blonde figures. Hopefully these look better than the movie.

 

You can now pick up a couple new Black Panther movie options as well.

 

The movie It is gaining a rather large wave. This might be overkill though.

 

You can rock hard with a great wave of pop music. Loving the Weird Al in fat suite pop from this wave.

 

Harry Potter fans can pick up some really sharp looking rock candies.

 

Nickelodeon is getting two entire new products lines in dorbz and mystery minis. Cool wave, but a little disappointing.

 

Get ready to rumble with new WWE.

 

MLB is also adding a new wave just in time for spring training. I really like how the pitchers are on little mounds as a stand.

 

Ready Player one gets a boatload of additions too. I don’t even know what that is to be honest, so I don’t know if there needs to be that much stuff for it.

 

Of course, there is a Star Wars offering.

 

Or go medieval with some awesome Game of Thrones pops.

 

Gossip Girl is added to Funko’s lineup.

 

Smallville final gets their turn to become pops.

 

Saturday Night Live become pops as well. These are pretty funny.

 

You can also get Pee Wees playhouse pops.

 

Mr. Rodgers represents Latrobe with some neighborly local flare.

 

Lots of other popular franchises are also making additions such as Rick and Morty and Stranger Things.

 

 

There’s also new X-Men and Deadpool, which are pretty funny and what looks to be a new line of mini cars.

 
Its been such a huge day for announcements, as this was all on Friday February 16th.
I do think this wave has been a bit better than the ECC waves. However, I think its too much for one day. They should have spread the announcements over several days.

Funko News 2/9/18

After a quiet week looks like Funko is back in action. We have the first wave of Emerald City comic con products being announced.

 

Marvel gets to show their hand first. They offer a she-hulk lawyer and Yondu pops and a Deadpool duck dorbz.

 

The first pop and dorbz is just a no thanks kind of offering. The Yondu pop however looks great. It has an awesome pose and a sweet arrow prop in hand. Definitely see this being the most popular of the three offerings at least to start.

 

Second, we have a Star Wars announcement.

 

Third is a Disney set. This one has a shark head Maui and the green army man from toy Story in pop form.

 

The army man has to be even better than the Yondu mentioned above. My favorite new release from the first three waves.

 

Next up is a set of Rick and Morty aliens. These look cool, but need to glow in the dark, or have a glow variant in the future.

 

On the TV side Game of Thrones, Stranger Things and Doctor Who. These are ok offerings, but not my favorite.

 

The next wave is called throwbacks. This includes a very cute flocked good luck bear Care bear pop and Masters of the Universe Vynls. The bears worth it, the Vynl not in the slightest.

 

Taking a quick break from ECC Funko has announced the specialty series additions for May. Two pops are being added in the form of Krypto the super dog and Popeye the sailor man.

 
Krypto looks cute, but kind of like a repaint of Scooby Doo. The Popeye looks really detailed and its nice to see this classic cartoon get a pop representation.

 

Dc has a few offerings for ECC. Krypto gets more love as part of a two pack of dorbz with Ace the bat hound. Poison Ivy in bombshell form become the next rock candy. The pop from this edition is an emerald green chrome Batman.

 
The dorbz pack is cute, but I’m surprised it wasn’t made before. Ivy is awesome looking and I’m a big fan of anything bombshell.

 

My thoughts on the Batman are really another Batman. Add in really another chrome Batman to that list of thoughts as well.

 
Though I understand why they did this. The black and blue chrome Batmans sold really well and were highly sought after. This is capitalizing on that. The are 1,500 pieces limited as well making it more collectable piece.

 

Get the rabbit. Elmer Fudd is sporting his Viking helmet and looks adorable in dorbz form.

 

Pop video games has a new Cuphead pop and Street Fighter t-shirt. The pop looks ok and fits well with the rest of the line. The shirt isn’t very good. It isn’t even pop themed. At least it comes in a cool arcade box.

 

Movie fans haven’t been forgotten. Mad Max and Scot Pilgrim are getting ECC exclusive pops. Additionally, the Life Aquatic is getting a Vynl pack.

 
The pops look good and match well with the others in the lineup and should sell well. As for the Vynl it’s a movie I haven’t herd of for one thing. The second thing is me not liking the Vynl line so I’ll pass.

 

Pop comics is adding something new as well. The comic Saga is getting a pop with the character Prince Robot IV. This thing just looks goofy. Though I’m sure fans of the comic will love it.

 

The next list of ECC announcement we can call grab bag. Reach inside and out comes a flocked bigfoot, Green Pulpo and a teal baseball player Freddy. These ones just make me laugh. The bigfoot is just too funny, as is Pulpo, who is an octopus character that looks like a pickle.

 
These are ones to get if you get a chance, but they are a bit limited.

 

the ECC announcements come from Lounge fly collaborations with Funko. They have Star Wars and Toy Story army men backpack and pencil case sets. They are super limited at 400 pieces each. The look pretty good, but I don’t think they will be as popular as the pop items.

 

A very big week with a lot of great new exclusives to pick up. Good luck finding them on your hunts.

 

 

 

Funko News 1/19/2018

First announcement of the week is a new dorbz. This is an Island of adventure park exclusive. It’s a torn mask Deadpool.

 

Yet another Deadpool variant. I do like liked Deadpool, but he is staring to get a big stale as far as pops and dorbz go. Its not bad looking, but in less you’re your going for the whole collection, or in the park there’s no need for this one.

 

Next up is a new wave of Disney print sized heroes. There’s a base set and exclusives for Toys ‘r us and hot topic.

 
These look really cute. Dumbo, Stitch and tick tock would be my favorites from this wave. I may have to start adding pint sized to my collection thanks to this wave when they hit stores in March.

 

Star Wars gets another Walmart three pack. Again, I ask haven’t these been made already. Pick it up in February if you must.

 

Five Nights at Freddy’s continues to add pops. This time its in the form of a withered Bonnie. It is a Walmart Exclusive coming in February.

 
However, this thing just looks weird. It really doesn’t add anything to the line. O well milk the license for all you can I guess.

 

This was a pretty weak week of offerings for Funko.  Hoping for a better one next week.

 

 

Funko News 1/5/2018

Brand new year, brand new set of announcements from Funko. After taking a couple days off for the holiday the announcements have picked up in the back half of the weeks.
The first of which is dual Star Wars announcements.

 

The first is a Chewbacca with an At-St, the second a young Anikin Skywalker. The Skywalker is exclusive to Walgreens.

 
My first reaction to these is how were these not made already. There’s just so many of these Star Wars pops coming out I’m truly surprised they have any ideas left.
I’ll leave the buying of these to the true fans.

 

Next up is the specialty series announcement for April. The pop is a new Hellboy, while the dorbz is a Bazooka Joe ad icon.

 
The Dorbz looks good and nice to see a new character. One you should pick up if you like the ad icons line.

 
The Hellboy wave the recently came out seems to be really popular. This new edition works really well with the prior releases.

 
It has a darker red paint job with a crown and flames. Add this one if you see it.

 

The Yuri on Ice line adds rock candies. Two options are available starting in March.
I do like how these look. I also like how they did a clear blue base to look like ice. However, I don’t watch the show and therefore don’t need them.

 

Next to become pops are characters from Rupaul’s Drag Race. You can select Rupaul, Alaska and Trixie Mattel. These are exclusive to Hot Topic.

 
These are super cute and funny. I don’t watch the show, but I may have to start. I think I will be picking these up if I can find them just because the make me smile.

 

Overall not a bad week from Funko. Even with the holiday leading to a slow start. The fans have a nice mix of lines to make additions to their collections from these announcements.

 

Pop News 11/10/2017

The week starts off with more Star Wars.

 

Next up is a new wave of pop rocks. Jerry Garcia, Elton John and Kurt Cobain are the musicians taking the spotlight. You can get the standard wave of three, or chose from three exclusives. Taking the stage in January. These are pretty good looking and should make a fine add-on to a music fans collection.

 

Five new Buffy the Vampire Slayer commons are coming in January. There will also be a chase variant with 1 in 6 odds. These look pretty good with Buffy and Dark Willow being my favorite two.

 

The next announcement I immediately smiled for. DC Bombshell Rock Candy’s for Wonder Women and Batgirl. Each one has an exclusive from. Batgirls is a sepia tone and looks like it could be the best sepia variant Funko has done so far.

 
While I love the idea behind the next product I don’t love the line. Joker and Harley Quinn are two of my favorite DC villains. The Vynl line however is a mess and not liked. Sadly, this add on does not make it a better line.

 
Batgirl is also gong eight-bit for two different pops. Continuing a trend that needs to slow down. Like we really need a 66 Batgirl eight-bit pop. Makes it hard to determine if I should add it to complete my recently completed set of 66 batman pops.

 

Marvel fans are going to have their wallets take a hit if they like Black Panther. In anticipation of the movie the merchandise is coming. You have your pick of a pint-sized heroes three-pack, plushies, four dorbz, keychains and Pops. There are 10 total pops in this line alone and that’s a lot.

 

One good think they did with this line is the number of glow in the dark ones. These look like they will look so cool when they light up. I may have to get a couple to make as my first glow in the dark Funko items. Though I’ll have to check out the movie first.

 

Disney gets another cool exclusive. This is a pop ride of stitch in the red one.

It’s available at box lunch coming soon. A very cool edition.

 

Overall a pretty good week for new Funko announcements

 

 

 

 

 

Pop News 11/3/2017

Anime starts off the week. Attack on Titan has new dorbz coming. There are four options with two of them being limited to 5,000 pieces. They look kind of cute, but I’m not a fan of the show.

 

Next up is an announcement I am excited for. The Emperor’s New Groove is finally becoming pops. They look awesome and that movie is underrated. Kronk looks the best, but they are all must haves.

 

The next announcement is the Tick is getting a pop. The Tick had a glow in the dark comic con exclusive before and now has a regular pop. It’s ok, nothing special.

 

The next set to be launched is Fraggle Rock.

This is amazing and about time they released these. Get your set of five regular and two exclusives starting in December.

 

The Fraggles keep coming. Traveling Uncle Matt from the show becomes the specialty series pop for February. He is joined by a kingdom come Superman dorbz. I like the fraggle pop a good bit. The dorbz kind of confused me a bit, as I coun’t really tell what makes this one different from other superman’s.

 

The video game line gets a plus one with the additions of Cuphead. You can get pops and plushies from this recent hit game.
I’m not a fan of these. They look weird, that and sort of like a rip-off of old Mickey Mouse cartoons.

 

Rick and Morty has some more to offer. They get additions to the VYNL line as well as a set of pint sized heroes. The pint-sized heroes look pretty cute, while the VYNL continues to be a bust.

 

O And of course new Star Wars stuff, can’t go a week with out that.
